This universal counterweight assembly will balance cartridges from 5-15 grams. No other counterweight available for the Rega tonearm can match its flexibility and performance.
It comes furnished with three pairs of interchangeable stainless steel weights, stainless mounting hardware, an allen wrench, and a stainless steel end stub. A black or silver anodized aluminum body is also supplied to complete the assembly.
The main body is CNC machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum and the weights are machined from non magnetic stainless steel. The weights are damped internally and the body is decoupled from the end stub by a Delrin bushing and secured to the end stub with a No-Mar set screw.
It offers the user three different counterweight options depending on which pair of interchangeable stainless steel weights are installed on the aluminum body. Swapping out the weights takes mere seconds, only one screw per weight requires removal.
The three options are 110gm, 130gm, and 150gm. These three options were previously sold separately.
This assembly ultimately offers maximum flexibility and performance by controlling tracking ability resulting in more information being extracted from the record grooves. You can also have peace of mind knowing that the counterweight will not interfere with the dustcover when closed, even if shims are added to raise the tonearm to compensate for taller cartridges.
Tungsten weights are available as an option for extremely high mass cartridges (above 15 grams) requiring additional mass. Please contact us for pricing on special order requests.
Standard available colors are Black anodize and Silver anodize. Simple setup instructions and an Allen wrench are included.
A precision machined stainless steel end stub is also included with the counterweight assembly to ensure a precise fit, however it is not mandatory to change the stock end stub if it provides a good fit with the Groovetracer counterweight.
The installation of this counterweight assembly will allow you to close the dustcover even if you have installed spacers to raise the tonearm.
