Thorens have been making precision products since the company’s inception way back in 1883 when they started making music boxes, clock mechanisms and at the turn of the century they began to manufacture phonographs.

In 1928, they produced their first electric (motor-drive) record player, and went on to produce a range of record players in the 50′s and 60′s which are, even by today’s standards, regarded as high-end audio equipment, and are much sought-after by audiophiles worldwide.

Thorens continues their tradition of high-quality and innovation in turntable design and manufacturing to this day by using the latest in modern materials such as a carbon-fiber and other materials.
